About Patty Barnes
Patty Barnes graduated from Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY with a BFA in Art History. She
received her Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin.
In childhood, Patty’s mother supplied her with rolls of white shelving paper and Patty spent her free hours drawing. As she grew, she climbed trees and drew landscapes atop the branches.
Now, Patty lives her childhood passion. She paints daily in a studio filled with her work. Working in oil, Patty focuses on relationships, be that of father and child, friendships or a young girl dancing on the beach with a raspberry popsicle. Patty paints to tell a story, using light,
shadows and color to express feeling. Patty states, “I love painting the heart of Cape Cod.”
Figures and the ocean are predominant subjects.
